Hanover Pub: A photo gallery through the ages
Broomhall was an area full of pubs at one time or another. The only pub still surviving is the Hanover pub on the corner of Upper Hanover Street and Clarke Street. This pub has seen its fair share of changes over the years including many different licks of paint!

Hello I was just was just wonder g if anyone knows the date or year the Hanover pub first opened its doors thank you
It has been wonderful for me to see these photos, primarily
the top two middle and right. For years I have been puzzled as to where the Post Office was. My Uncle was a salesman of Lady’s fashion items in the late 60s and had a room above the Post Office where he kept his stock. It was also surprising to see the Draper’s supplies was across the road. He was obviously the middle-man!
