This is one of the oldest archive documents relating to Broomhall, dated 21st May 1581.

The catalogue description reads:

“Elizabeth, Queen of England, grants to George, Earl of Shrewsbury (on the advice of the Court of Wards), part of the property of William Jessop, deceased, during the minority of William Jessop; comprising the capital messuage of Broomhall and land in Sheffield and Little Sheffield.”
